BACK AT IT AGAIN WITH ANOTHER POWER BANK. Sorry is that already over used? Anyway, we have reviewed a ton of power banks in the past, but we haven’t done one in the past couple months. And since companies are still making them smaller with larger batteries and better add-on, I think it’s important to keep you up-to-date on some of the cool ones being released on the market.
Logiix Piston Power Multi 5000
This mini beast of a power bank called the Piston Power Multi 5000 was oh so generously given to us from our friends over at Logiix. So let’s get right down to it, what makes this power bank new and different from the rest of the ones we have reviewed? Well given that this one is a 5000 mAh battery and the size of about 4 credit cards thick should sum it up. And Logiix has made this portable battery pack the perfect companion for the multi-device user. Combining both the Lightning and a micro USB cable built right in. Which for me is a MUST. Since I charge devices that use both charging slots and I hate having to carry to different charging cables on me.
Small & Powerful
The Logiix Piston 5000 mAh battery is able to provide most smartphones on the market with up to 2.5 extra charges and tablets will vary because the battery sizes are so different. But don’t let this small device fool you; this little beast is housed with durable polycarbonate with a strong and sleek, anodized aluminum look. It’s strong and durable, so you can throw it in your backpack and take it on the go.
Just like most power banks are starting to have, the Piston has a LED battery indicator that lets you know just how much juice you’ve got left. Which is of course a major plus since I would never recommend power bank that doesn’t include a LED display.
Charging Cord Flaw
The only negative I would point out on this charge, which kept it from getting 5 stars is the charging cords. I would suggest changing the ends of the lighting and micro USB plug. For me I have to push my case off my phone to use this because the lightning cord is too thick, and the case I have on my phone is nowhere next to thick. If they made the ends skinner It would easily have a perfect score.
Overall, the Logiix Piston has become my go to power bank when I’m on the go. It’s small and durable when I can throw it in my backpack or back pocket and hit the road. It’s also strong enough where I can charge my iPhone 6s 2.5 times. It also doesn’t take too long to charge this device from dead either. I think it took me about 5 hours to fully charge it. All I do is plug it in before I go to bed and its ready to use the next morning! This is the perfect option for a small on the go charger. Like I said above, the only negative is the charging ends are too thick.
